Rename Imphal airport: IMFA

Indo-Myanmar Friendship Association Tuesday demanded renaming of Imphal airport after one of the yesteryear’s heroes who sacrificed their lives safeguarding the freedom of the erstwhile Manipur kingdom.
Addressing reporters at Manipur Press Club here, secretary of the association LC Ruhinikumar demanded that the Tulihal Airport (Imphal airport) should be named after one of the freedom fighters and patriots of Manipur like Bir Tikendrajit, Paona, Thangal etc.
He said renaming after any one of them would facilitate payment of homage and gratitude to the one who had sacrificed with valour for the future generation of people of the state.
If Manipur chief minister considered the renaming of the Imphal airport after a freedom fighter of the state during his tenure, he would be remained forever to the heart of the people of the state, he asserted.
