Jet faces new irritant

New Delhi: The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) today sought a “factual report” from the civil aviation ministry on a complaint of alleged corruption in the Rs 2,058-crore deal between Jet Airways and Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to the commission last month alleging that Jet in collusion with senior civil aviation ministry officials was causing a revenue loss of Rs 500 crore to the national exchequer through the deal.
Dubey’s complaint has been sent to the chief vigilance officer of the civil aviation ministry to furnish a factual report to the commission, official sources said.
The agreement between the two airlines has been engulfed in controversy ever since it became public.
