Mumbai: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TNCCI) has made an appeal to Jet Airways to introduce a direct flight between Madurai and Abu Dhabi, as per The Hindu Business Line report. S Rethinavelu, Senior President, TNCCI, and N Jegatheesan, President, TNCCI, have appealed to Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways (India) Ltd, to consider introduction of direct flight on the sector in the winter schedule.
They said that since Jet Airways will be treated as domestic airline even after its deal with Etihad Airways, and hence the non-inclusion of Madurai airport in the bi-lateral airport treaty with the UAE will not restrict Jet Airways from introducing the flight.
