Cidco takes steps to resolve land deal tangle

Navi Mumbai: With the June-18 deadline inching closer for a tendering process for the Navi Mumbai International Airport, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has initiated measures to resolve the tangle over the land compensation deal.
It has started joint measurement of dwellings on gaothan land, to be rehabilitated. This comes before the bidding for the request for qualification to appoint a strategic partner for developing the Rs 15,000-crore project and the land by cutting the Ulwe hill on July 7.
"There wasn't much opposition to the relief and rehabilitation (R&R) package. So, we decided to go ahead with joint measurement of houses," said a Cidco official.
