Normal flight operations resume today at Lohegaon airport

Pune: The Lohegaon airport will commence normal flight operations from Wednesday, after a gap of three months, following the completion of the infrastructure works that included partial closure of runway to facilitate the modernization of airfield infrastructure works (MAFI) project.
According to the director general of civil aviation's (DGCA) new summer schedule for Pune that comes into force from April 16 to October 25, a total of 49 flights will operate on Wednesday and the number will go up to a maximum of 68 flights per day. "On an average, 60 flights will be operated per day during the summer schedule as against the existing 48," a senior airport official told TOI.
Lohegaon is a joint user airfield with the runway and the air traffic control (ATC) belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the civil enclave is managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
