Govt approves site clearance for Dholera Airport Project in Ahmedabad

New Delhi: The government on Monday approved the site clearance for Greenfield international airport project at Dholera at Ahmedabad in Gujarat, a move that could see more international standard airports in the country.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Shri G.M. Siddeshwara Monday informed the Lok Sabha of the approval of the site clearance for the Dholera Airport project in Ahmedabad.

The project is being developed by the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board in 2014.

Besides this project, the Taj International Greenfield airport project proposed at Hirangoan, Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh is presently under the preliminary scrutiny, a press release by the government stated.

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) had recently upgraded Bhopal, Indore and Raipur airports to international standards and the Government has initiated the process of declaring these airports as international airports.
