Missive to four airlines

Indore: Director of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport has shot off a missive to four private airlines to ensure that their flights are run without technical hassle.

On Tuesday, director R N Shinde said that there have been around 15 incidents in which flights have been held up for hours due to technical glitches at the airport. This has caused major inconvenience to passengers and airport staff has to bear the brunt of their fury.

Four airlines have been issued the warning letter; Jet Airways, Air India, SpiceJet and Indigo.

Shinde citied some examples. On June 6, a Delhi-bound morning flight of SpiceJet from Indore was cancelled on Friday due to a technical snag at Indore Airport when it was about to take off. While another flight Mumbai-Indore-Delhi, Air India flight AI636 got delayed by about four hours at Chhatrapati Shivaji International, Mumbai, on July 7, owing to technical faults.
