AI travellers protest 5-hour delay

Vadodara: A delay of five hours coupled with harrowing flying experience made passengers of Vadodara-bound Air India flight furious on Friday. The perturbed passengers resorted to sloganeering and demanded a refund of their airfare on landing.
Air India flight 819 was scheduled to take off at 6.30am from Delhi. The flight's departure was rescheduled to 10.10am at the last moment without informing the passengers about the reason. After landing at Vadodara, around 50 passengers staged a protest outside the airport terminal on Friday afternoon accusing Air India's staff of unprofessional conduct. The angry passengers said the authorities were liable to notify passengers about the rescheduling an hour in advance. Their failure to do so led to chaos at Delhi terminal.tnn
"Air India runs because of our hard-earned money that we pay as taxes. Hence, they do not have the right to treat us badly. When we asked to meet higher officials, we were misguided by the staff," said an agitated passenger Nilesh Kapadia of Saputara.
