Thiruvananthapuram: The Trivandrum International Airport has witnessed a massive jump in revenue, especially from non-aero activities and user development fees as a result of increase in passenger traffic over the past three years. The total revenue in 2010-11 was Rs 112.59 crore which increased to Rs 186.38 crore in 2012-13 and to Rs 205.04 crore (provisional) in 2013-14.
The air traffic revenue here has shown gradual increase in landing housing and parking charges, route navigation facilities charges, and terminal navigation and landing charges from Rs 59.42 crore (2010-11) to Rs 61.92 crore (provisional) in 2013-14. Commissioning of the new international terminal in May 2011 led to a rise in user development fee (UDF)and an increase in revenue from commercial activities such as renting space for restaurants, forex counters, spa, etc.
