Air India Express increases flights to three south Indian cities

Muscat:  As part of its new winter schedule, Air India Express will increase the frequency of flights to Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore to four times a week from October 26.

A press release stated that with this new schedule, the total number of flights operated by the airline from Muscat will go up to 19 a week from the current 16. Apart from this, Air India Express will continue to operate two weekly flights ex-Salalah connecting Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

“The decision to increase the frequency is due to demand on the above routes,” Amresh Choudhary, country manager - Oman, Air India Express, was quoted in the release.

It stated that flights on the Mangalore-Muscat route will now operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight IX817 will depart from Mangalore at 10.05am and arrive in Muscat at 2.40pm via Abu Dhabi. The return flight IX818 will leave Muscat at 3.30pm and fly non-stop arriving in Mangalore at 8.10pm.
