Airports Authority of India, Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar celebrated “World Tourism Day” in association with India Tourism and Odisha State Tourism Department. The theme for 2014 was “Tourism and Community Development: focusing on the ability of tourism to empower people and provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities”.
The celebrations began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Sh. Ashok Chandra Panda, Tourism Minister, Govt. of Odisha; Sh. Sharad Kumar, Airport Director; Sh. B.B. Mukherjee, Asst. Director, India Tourism; along with other dignitaries. Balloons were released by the dignitaries present and soon after the Signature Campaign started.
