New Delhi: Malaysia Airlines seems to be suffering from a spate of glitches on its India flights. Its Delhi-Kuala Lumpur (KL) flight scheduled to leave India on Sunday noon had to be canceled due to technical glitches. On Saturday night, the airline's KL-Hyderabad flight had to return to Malaysia after the aircraft had an auto pilot defect.
"The Sunday flight to KL was canceled at the last minute. We were all waiting at the boarding gate when first the airline said the flight was delayed to 2.30pm. Later they canceled the flight," said a passenger.
IGI Airport sources say the Boeing 737-800 which was to operate out of Delhi had a technical glitch. "Their engineers tried to resolve the problem but could not do so. Then Malaysian offered its passengers two choices that they could take another flight or be sent to hotels. Some Delhi flyers chose to return home," the official said.
A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that technical issues had led to the cancellation of the Delhi-KL flight on Sunday afternoon.
