Bird hits Jet’s Mumbai- Indore flight

Indore : The passengers of Indorebound Jet Airways flight had a narrow escape on Tuesday morning when a bird hit the aircraft during its landing at city airport.

” The incident occurred in the morning when Mumbai- Indore- Mumbai Flight JAI- 2395 was gearing up for landing at 7.20 am,” airport sources said.

The pilot managed to land the plane safely after the bird hit, sources added.

However, it departed two hours behind the scheduled, at 10 am.

Airport director Manoj Chansoria told Free Press that bird hitting the engine or the wind shield of an aircraft is considered to be dangerous. Chansoria further said that bird scaring devices have been installed at the take off operation area. Besides, birds are also chased manually by the bird chasers regularly, he added.
