MH370 passenger’s family sues MAS, government bodies

Kuala Lumpur: A suit will be filed against Malaysian Airlines (MAS) and several government bodies over the missing MH370 and its 239 passengers.
Passenger Jee Jing Hang’s next of kin have appointed law firm Rusmah Arunan & Asociates to represent them in the suit which aims to obtain the truth behind what has happened to the Beijing-bound flight.
In a statement today, the suit’s co-counsel, Gary Edward Chong, said the firm would be filing the suit at Kuala Lumpur High Court Registry tomorrow morning.
“We will reveal more details and background of the suit after the filing.”
He said among the causes of action raised in the suit was negligence in the investigation conducted by the defendants — MAS, the Department of Civil Aviation, Department of Immigration, Royal Malaysian Air Force and the Malaysian government.
The statement also quoted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s March 24 speech which concluded the search for the missing flight as it was said to have ended its journey in the southern India Ocean.
