Shia team stopped at IGI

New Delhi: A six-member Anjuman-e-Haidari delegation headed for Iraq was detained at IGI airport on Monday morning. Initially, immigration officials stopped the team on the basis of a 'look out circular' issued by the intelligence bureau. However, they were not allowed to board the flight even after they showed officials their travel documents and a letter from the external affairs ministry.
"Security agencies are scuttling efforts to bring back people who joined ISIS," said Shia leader Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi.
