Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Monday said flights from the Shimla airport would resume soon with the renovation of the airstrip.
The Jubbarhatti airport near Shimla has been shut since September 2012.
The chief minister said the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has also conducted a survey near Kandaghat in Solan district, located adjoining the national highway 22, for setting up a new airport, which would facilitate landing of bigger aircraft.
“But before that, the Jubbarhatti airport would resume operation,” he added.
