UP govt to take two aircraft on rent for ‘VVIPs’

Lucknow: The UP government has decided to take on rent two highly-advanced set of flying machines to provide a more luxurious air travel to VVIPs including Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. These aircraft will be Falcon 2000 and Hawker 900XP or their variants.
The state government presently has five aircraft including two aeroplanes and three helicopters. These aeroplanes include Hawker and V200 which are five to 10 seater. The choppers include Agusta, Bell 412 and Bell 230. Among these aeroplanes, only Hawker is jet propelled whereas V200 is turbo-propelled that can fly with speed of maximum 600-km per hour.
Officials said that the government is planning to sell Bell 230 (1995 made) as it has completed its flying life span and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav often prefers Bell 412 to fly within UP. Official said that another helicopter is urgently needed for reserve in the fleet.
