Cancelled spicejet flights starnd 1000 passengers

Bengaluru: Around 1,000 passengers were stranded at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Tuesday after 17 incoming SpiceJet flights and 19 scheduled to take off from there were cancelled. Among those stranded were senior citizens, children and the physically challenged.

Dr Nisarga, a cardiologist, missed a meeting in Hyderabad. His flight was scheduled for 8am. After announcing a delayed departure five times, the airline informed passengers the flight had been cancelled due to a shortage of fuel. "I was at the airport till 2.30pm. Can you imagine how difficult it is to wait for hours without food and drinking water?" the doctor said.

G Sheikh, whose flight to Indore was cancelled after he was sent several messages informing him about a delay, said: "The airline created problems for us flyers.... I managed to book a ticket on another airline."
