Surat: The first inaugural flight of Diamond Aeronautics and Ventura Air Connect on the Surat-Bhavnagar route was flagged off from the Surat airport on Saturday morning.
The nine passengers, mainly from the diamond industry, left for Bhavnagar in the nine-seater aircraft at 7:30 am on Saturday. The flight takes less than 30 minutes to reach Bhavnagar airport.
Daily three flights will be operated on this route with minimum fare of Rs. 2000 and maximum Rs. 4000 per seat.The plane will travel three times on this route each day.The company has has two planes at present, each has capacity of 9 seats. With this, the distance of Surat-Bhavnagar has come down from 10 hours to just 22-30 minutes.
Chairman of Dharmanandan Diamonds, Laljibhai Patel(Ugamedi) said "It is a biggest success for us. The five companies have got together to launch the first private airlines in Gujarat".
