Nagaland Lok Sabha Member has written a letter to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati for night landing facility at Dimapur airport.
In his letter to Pusapati, copy of which made available to press, Mr. Rio said that Dimapur is the only airport of Nagaland, which is being used by the passengers of Assam and Manipur, including army and paramilitary personnel. The Dimapur airport was equipped with and authorized for night landing night landing facilities on 30th November last for the visit of the Prime Minister to the state.
In his letter Rio said for long, the sunset time limitation was the prime reason for cancellation of delayed flights to the airports in the North East and this night landing facility has been provided under the initiative of the Civil Aviation Ministry so that even flights, which have been delayed due to unavoidable circumstance, may be able to land at night.
