No decision yet on airport building transfer

Nashik: No decision could be arrived at in a meeting of the state and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on the transfer of Ozar airport terminal building to the company on Monday.

Chief secretary Swadhin Kshatriya held talks with HAL officials over transfer of the airport terminal building to the company. HAL managing director S Subrahmanyam, additional secretary of the state's general administration department (civil Aviation) P S Meena and officiating chief engineer (Nashik region) of the public works department P Y Deshmukh were present at the meeting.

The new airport terminal at Ozar, around 20 km from the city, was inaugurated on March 3 by the then Union minister heavy industries and public enterprises, Praful Patel. The state and Ltd HAL have jointly upgraded the airport at a cost of Rs 84 crore. The state government has constructed the building at a cost of Rs 84 crore, while the land is owned by HAL. But the airport terminal building has not yet been transferred to HAL.
