Pune: Travel plans for many in the city have come to a halt this holiday season as airfares have risen simultaneously with SpiceJet flights being cancelled or rescheduled.
Those stuck with cancelled SpiceJet tickets are rebooking with other airlines at double the fare, or, sometimes, even higher. Sources in the travel industry said that several travellers have cancelled their New Year and Christmas vacation plans instead of paying hefty amounts to rebook on other airlines.
A tour company proprietor told TOI that several clients have suffered due to Spice Jet flights getting cancelled or rescheduled, especially during the Christmas and New Year's holiday season.
