Surat-Bhavnagar daily air service inaugurated

Surat: The inaugural flight of Diamond Aeronautics and Ventura Air Connect on Surat-Bhavnagar route was flagged off from Surat airport on Saturday.

Nine passengers, mainly from diamond industry, left for Bhavnagar in the nine-seater aircraft at 7:30am. The flight takes less than 30 minutes to reach Bhavnagar.

Daily three flights will be operated on this route with a minimum fare of Rs 2,000 and maximum of Rs 4,000 per seat. The company has two nine-seater planes at present. With this air service, the distance between Surat and Bhavnagar has come down from 10 hours to just 30 minutes. Chairman of Dharmanandan Diamonds Laljibhai Patel said "It is a big success for us. Five companies have got together to launch the first private airlines in Gujarat." He said the morning flight will leave for Bhavnagar at 7.30 am. It will halt at Bhavnagar airport for 25 minutes before returning. This flight will be connected to Bhuj, Rajkot and Ahmedabad route in the next few days.
