Consultants give inputs on airport expansion

Vijayawada: With the Airports Authority of India (AAI) working on upgrading Gannavaram airport to international standards, top consultants, including GVK, have submitted designs for the project.

A three-member team from GVK gave a presentation during a review meeting chaired by Union Minister of Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapati Raju at the airport recently. “The team members gave inputs on the airport development project. Besides GVK representatives, consultants from other companies, too, gave suggestions,” a senior airport official said.

He added that the inputs provided by the consultants on developing the terminal building had been forwarded to the AAI headquarters in New Delhi. The official said the inputs from the consultants had been accepted as part of the strategic planning. The AAI is likely to consider designs that are economically viable and ensure quality services to passengers, he added.
