Body of Lt Abhinav flown home, funeral today

Udaipur: The body of Lt Abhinav Nagori, the co-pilot of the navy's Dornier-228 maritime surveillance aircraft that crashed into the Arabian Sea near Goa on March 24, was flown in a special aircraft from Goa to his home town, here on Saturday afternoon.

Large number of people had gathered at the Dabok airport to receive the body, which was draped in the tricolour. The brave heart was given a guard of honour at the airport and his body was transported in an open military truck to his residence at Chitrakoot Nagar in Bhuwana. The last rites would be held at Ashok Nagar crematorium after some 15 kilometer procession around the city on Sunday morning, family sources said. Meanwhile, the natives of Bhuwana have announced to celebrate instead of mourning the soldier's demise. The marble processors and traders association at Sukher called for a half day shut down as a token of homage.
