Vistara to launch maiden services to northeast

New Delhi: Tata's full service passenger carrier Vistara Tuesday announced its foray into the northeast with the addition of Guwahati and Bagdogra to its domestic network.

According to the airline, it will commence services from April 2 on Delhi-Guwahati-Bagdogra-Delhi route.

"We've had lots of customers asking us to fly to the eastern India over the past month, so we're delighted to launch this new route in response to the customer demand," Vistara chief executive Phee Teik Yeoh said in a statement.

"The addition of this route reaffirms our commitment to promote regional connectivity in India, and contribute to the Government's efforts to boost trade and opening up development avenues for people in these regions."

The airline had earlier announced the launch of new services to Goa and Hyderabad from Feb 20 and March 1, respectively.
