COMPETITION is set to heat up on domestic sectors connecting Delhi, the country's largest aviation hub handling over 750 flights a day, with regional player Air Costa and no-frill carrier Air Asia India planning to spread their wings to the capital.
While Air Asia India is expected to start its flights to Delhi from May this year, Air Costa is gearing up to launch flights during September-October.
Air Asia India, the three-way joint venture of Malaysian no-frill carrier Air Asia Berhad, Tata Sons and Arun Bhatia Telestra Tradeplace, would induct two Airbus-320 to scale up its domestic operation. Air Costa would also be adding two more aircraft to its fleet this year.
