New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of passengers had to keep waiting at the IGI Airport and Biju Patnaik International Airport of Odisha capital as the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar-Port Blair flight AI-9601 of Air India failed to take off from IGI early Sunday morning.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 5:45 AM from IGI, reach Bhubaneswar and then depart for Port Blair. The passengers had collected their boarding passes and had reached near the flight by 5:20 AM. However, the flight was cancelled moments before it was scheduled to take off citing mechanical failures.
Angry passengers had to wait for hours inside the bus hoping for a delayed departure, but that was not to be. The same was the case in Bhubaneswar airport for passengers planning to go to Port Blair.
