After Punjab terror attack, security up in Mumbai airport

Mumbai: Security has been beefed up at all the major airports in the country including the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in the city following the terror attack in Pubjab on Monday.

According to security officials posted at CSIA, cars and passengers at the airport are being checked and frisked at the entry points of the airport. Also, a vigil is kept on people who loiter around the airport area. The help of local police has also been taken to keep up surveillance around the airport.

"Similarly, the cargo consignments are also being more closely scanned for any explosive etc." said a senior security official at CSIA. Most of the civil aviation airports in the country are manned by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
