NASHIK: The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) is planning on inviting private airline operators for a conference likely to be held in the first week of August. The objective behind the initiative is to attract airline companies to commence air services from Ozar terminal.
HAL had organised a similar conference in November last year in which around 12 private airline operators operators — including Air India, Air India Express, Jet Airways, Sovika Group, Go Airlines (India) Ltd, Indigo Airlines, Spicejet, Shirke and Air Asia — were invited. The air service, however, could not be launched back then as the new airport terminal building had not been transferred to HAL by the state government. Meanwhile, Shrinivas Airlines, a small aviation company, has started a six-seater aircraft — Mumbai-Nashik-Mumbai from July 13. The flight is operational from Monday to Saturday.
With the handing over of the airport terminal building, HAL has started taking initiatives to attract private airlines operators to start air service from Nashik.
