HAL taps operators to bring city back on country’s airmap

NASHIK: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has invited airline operators for a conference on August 1 to showcase the city's potential for a return to the country's airmap after a gap of six years.

HAL authorities have arranged presentations on Nashik's air service potentials and prospects for the 10-12 private airline operators that have been invited for the conference. Among the operators likely to attend the conference are Jet Airways, Air India, Air India Express, Spicejet, Indigo Airlines, Go Airlines (India) Ltd, Shirke and Air Asia.

On July 23, the TOI had reported that HAL was planning to invite the private airline operators for the conference that will be held at the new airport terminal building at Ozhar near Nashik on August 1. The event will be attended among others by P S Meena, the additional chief secretary (civil aviation), and T Suvarna Raju, the chairman and managing director of HAL.
