Soon, check in time at Ahmedabad airport to be reduced

Soon, passengers travelling from city airport will get their boarding passes from any counter irrespective of the airline they are flying, saving them from standing in long queues. Recently, in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, minister of state for civil aviation Dr Mahesh Sharma said that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has under taken slew of works for upgradation and modernization of passenger facilities at various airports including Ahmedabad airport.

Among various work taken up, one of them is check in counters with common user terminal equipment (CUTE). The CUTE system will ensure smooth passage of passengers at the check-in points. This will cut short the lengthy process that passengers have to pass through at the check-in points.

Currently, passengers have to queue up before the counters of their respective airlines for baggage tagging and boarding passes which consumes lot of time during the rush hours.
