The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) data has shown that for the month of June, flight cancellations were at 0.67% only due to clear weather and favourable flight conditions. According to the data, IndiGo Airlines remained at the top of the charts with lowest flight cancellations at a mere 0.10% and the domestic operations of state-owned Air India at 1.40%. SpiceJet, which came out with cheap ticket offers with a dime a dozen had the second highest cancellation rate of 1.22%.
The data indicates that airlines in India cancelled nearly 21.5% of flights because of weather conditions but technical faults grounded over 24% flights.
