Vistara talks to seal operations deal

Bhubaneswar:  If things go as per plans, Air Vistara flights to and from the city will be a reality soon.

Representatives of the new domestic carrier will hold discussions with Biju Patnaik International Airport authorities on modalities to start domestic operations from here on July 9.

In December last year, the airline had approached authorities here to start operating the flights. Air Vistara has already obtained flying approval from Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Vistara is likely to give its flying schedules to the authorities.

"In the December meeting, I had apprised them (Vistara officials) of the facilities that we can provide at the terminal building and the ground," said airport director Sharad Kumar, adding that if the company submits the schedule on July 9 they would approve it the same day.
