New Delhi: All flights these days seem to lead to Varanasi. The temple town of Uttar Pradesh, has come on the radar of domestic airlines since it became the parliamentary constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi.
After SpiceJet announced direct flights from Hyderabad and Mumbai to Varanasi, country's largest private carrier IndiGo on Tuesday announced four flights to the town.
Last fortnight, Air India Express started its first international flight to Sharjah from the prime minister’s constituency.
State-owned Air India, which serves short-haul foreign routes through its subsidiary Air India Express, has also introduced a hub-and-spoke service from Varanasi by offering passengers connecting flights in Delhi.
