After losing Delhi and Mumbai airports to private developers, the Airport Authority of India has managed to bag a consultancy job in Nigeria where 10 of its officers would be deployed at the cost of the consortium involved in modernising the airports of the African nation. But the real intention behind the move, Third Eye has learnt, is to have its top-level officers gainfully employed. The PSU is now facing a problem of too many officers at the top. And those directors, executive directors, members, and general managers are always at loggerheads with each other. Idle minds have, without doubt, been the Devil’s workshop in this case.
